Prayers~Praises

~Sep. 23th 2010 - Prayer
We are praying for jobs as we both start school up here in Bellingham. I will be applying all over as I know many places are hiring for the holiday season. Cortland and I both with apply to Hillcrest Kids for teaching positions there - I am really praying Cortland gets that job as it will benifit him so much in his educational studies at WWU. I am also just praying that God would make which job I am supposed to have very clear and evident to me as my applications and resumes go out to many places. I know the Lord will provide for us. :)

We are praying for a small group to join where Cortland and I can go together with other couples. We both have COREs we attend once a week but they are gender-specific.

God has answered our prayers for work far greater than we could have expected! I have been offered a job at Costco as well as both Cortland and I being hired on as subsitute teachers at Hillcrest Kids and my early morning nanny job which should start up here in a couple weeks!! Praise God! He truely does bless His children abundantly! He has ever provided two piano students to begin lessons in the new year! I am very excited to begin teaching piano again as well as pouring into these two young girls' lives as He presents me with opportunities. God, You are so good!

God has answered our prayers for a small group. We are going to a group of 4 other couples - all older than ourselves, but it's been good to get to know them and to fellowship once a week with them. Praise God!

Praising God for Cortland's acceptance into Woodring the school of Education at WWU! Many, many applicants do not get accepted when they apply -he worked really hard on his application, and God truly blessed the work of his hands! He is very grateful. :)
~God has healed my back from a ton of pain! I hadn't had time to write out my prayer request for it on here, but it was prayed over by my friend Vanessa as well as at our small last wednesday. Dan anointed me with oil and prayed healing over my back, and the next day it was completely healed. :) Praise God - He is my healer!

I haven't written down my prayer requests here lately, but that does not mean there haven't been any!
#1 today, Cortland is trying to make a big decision about his major at WWU. He isn't sure if he should stay in the Elementary Education program or change... I'm over 2000 miles away from him in Alaska and it's been harder than imaginable to try and talk through something so important over the phone/computer :( I'm praying for strength, peace about our decisions, wisdom from God to know how to decide, and faith we're doing the right thing. :)
#2 today, My best friend Hannah Killam is meeting with her sister Dayna tomorrow for a lunch. Dayna has been on my heart as well as many other friends of hers and her entire family. Dayna needs a miracle done in her heart by the Lord so He can turn her life around for His glory... It seems hopeless when looking at it through earthly eyes, but God asks us to see things through supernatural eyes... And ask for "on earth as it is in Heaven..." I'm praying Hannah is given words from the Holy Spirit to speak over Dayna during their lunch date. I'm praying Dayna's heart be open to hearing the Lord speak to her. I'm praying for the whole date to be centered on Jesus Christ's Love for Dayna, and His desire for a Relationship with her, and not on her mistakes and/or sin.
#3 today, I'm here in Valdez, Alaska -did I mention 2000 miles away from Cortland :..( staying with a family with two young girls and their mom. Billie and I get along very well, she is a great person and an amazing mom to Audrey and Amber. I love spending time with them all, but I know I was sent up here to Alaska for a reason. God provided an opportunity for some extra money making, and also an open door for me to witness to Billie and the girls of God's love and compassion. I'm praying for courage, wisdom, and the Holy Spirit's guidance when speaking with Billie. :)

We are really praying for direction and open doors for Cortland this fall. His work on the ferry ends the second week in September and he is still trying to get into some Art courses this fall, he will know if he can by Monday afternoon, and he would also like to find a part-time job for the school year. We are praying that something with a landscaping business so he can get some experience in what he wants to do. :)
